Major allocations for key sectors
As per the official statement, the state has allocated:
- ₹1,06,360 crore for education
- ₹50,550 crore for healthcare
- ₹89,353 crore for agriculture and rural development

Infrastructure gets the largest share
Infrastructure development has received the highest allocation of ₹1.79 lakh crore, accounting for 22% of the total budget. Key allocations under this category include:
- ₹61,070 crore for the energy sector
- ₹21,340 crore for irrigation
- ₹24,000 crore for heavy and medium industries
- ₹25,308 crore for urban development
- ₹7,403 crore for housing and urban planning
- ₹3,152 crore for civil aviation
Additionally, ₹28,478.34 crore has been set aside for new expenditure categories.
Education sector to see increased investment
The education sector, which accounts for 13% of the total budget, will see significant investments in primary and higher education, school infrastructure, and quality enhancement programs.
“Uttar Pradesh remains one of the leading states in educational spending,” the government stated.
₹50,550 crore earmarked for healthcare
The healthcare sector has been allocated ₹50,550 crore, constituting 6% of the budget. The government has also announced free medical treatment of up to ₹5 lakh under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Abhiyan for:
- Home guards
- PRD (Prantiya Rakshak Dal) personnel
- Village watchmen
- Shiksha Mitras
- Instructors under the Basic Education Department
- Personnel working on an honorarium basis
- Agriculture and rural development to receive ₹89,353 crore
The agriculture and rural development sectors will receive ₹89,353 crore, making up 11% of the budget. The funds will be utilised for:
- Agriculture and horticulture
- Animal husbandry and dairy
- Fisheries and cooperatives
- Rural development and Panchayati Raj
- Namami Gange project and rural water supply
- State’s economic growth projections
The state’s GDP is projected to grow from ₹12.89 lakh crore in 2017-18 to ₹27.51 lakh crore in 2024-25, signaling economic expansion and increased development.
CM Yogi Adityanath’s vision for the budget
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath described the budget as a roadmap for social upliftment, stating:
“This budget is dedicated to the upliftment of the poor, farmers, youth, and women, in line with the concept of ‘Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah’ from Sanatan culture. Under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central theme of this budget is ‘priority to the deprived.’”
