India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, on Monday, March 17, had a meeting with Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Maria Malmer Stenergard, in New Delhi. The discussions focused on ways to further strengthen the bilateral trade and investment partnership between India and Sweden, aiming to enhance economic cooperation and open new avenues for business opportunities in both countries.

Goyal, in a tweet following the meeting, shared the positive outcomes of the talks, stating, “Held a productive meeting with Ms. @MariaStenergard, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sweden along with MoS @JitinPrasada ji. Discussed ways to further strengthen India-Sweden bilateral trade & investment partnership, fostering economic cooperation and opening up new business opportunities in both nations.”

The meeting highlighted the importance of enhancing economic collaboration between the two nations, with an emphasis on trade and investment as key drivers for mutual growth. Both sides expressed optimism about exploring new sectors and areas where both India and Sweden can benefit from deeper business and trade relations.
