How it works?

The Paytm Solar Soundbox features a built-in solar panel that charges even in minimal sunlight. It has two batteries—one powered by solar energy and another by electricity.

A 2-3 hour charge under sunlight can power the device for an entire day, while the electricity-powered battery lasts up to 10 days without recharging.
The soundbox offers real-time audio payment confirmation through a 3-watt speaker, ensuring merchants hear notifications clearly, even in noisy areas. It supports 11 Indian languages and provides a 4G  connection for instant transaction alerts.

Who can use it?

Designed for small merchants, hawkers, street vendors, and rural businesses, this device ensures reliable digital payments even in areas with frequent power shortages.

Minister of State for Finance, Pankaj Chaudhary, called the step a step toward empowering small businesses and promoting sustainability.

Paytm CEO Vijay Shekhar Sharma highlighted the company’s commitment to technology-driven financial inclusion.

Paytm recently introduced the NFC Card Soundbox, which combines NFC and QR payments in a single device. It also enables users to link bank accounts, create UPI IDs, and make seamless payments through QR codes, mobile numbers, and bank transfers.
