This not only marks global recognition but takes India’s culinary landscape a level higher in the world of fine dining. From Mumbai, Americano securing the 61st rank, The Bombay Canteen ranked 70th, and Ekaa claimed the 98th spot. Additionally, Comorin from Gurugram was 79th, while Dum Pukht in New Delhi secured the 87th rank.

Mumbai’s Masque
Prateek Sadhu and Aditi Dugar launched Masque in Mumbai in 2016. Within a few years of its opening, the restaurant was the buzz of the town because of its 10-course meal.
The fine-dine is headed by Chef Varun Totlani and serves a variety of cuisines. The highlight of their menu is Kashmiri morels with patra, stuffed with either barbecued pork or peas.
Masque is known for its unique innovation, ‘The Masque Lab.’ The 1,250-square-foot lab investigates ingredients to learn about their ageing properties, reactions to different flavours, and role in bridging culinary cultures, and more.
New Delhi’s Indian Accent
Indian Accent, founded by Rohit Khattar in 2009, has earned several awards and recognitions across the world. The restaurant is headed by Chef Manish Mehrotra.
Some of its most renowned dishes are Puchkas with Calcutta Jhal Potato and Five Waters, Potato Sphere Chaat with White Pea Ragda and the Meetha Aachar Spare Ribs with Sour Green Apple. Indian Accent is also known for its special breads, such as wild mushroom kulcha with truffle oil and pink peppercorn and jalapeno roti. Guests can also choose from a detailed à la carte menu or enjoy a four-course lunch.
Indian Accent was secured its place on TIME Magazine’s 100 Greatest Places in the World. Last year, it opened a branch in Mumbai in August at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre.
Chennai’s Avartana
Chennai’s Avartana is a contemporary South Indian fine dining restaurant renowned for its creative take on classic cuisines. It offers a distinctive culinary experience by fusing traditional South Indian food with modern methods.
Avartana is known throughout the world for its bold flavours, inventive presentations, and elegantly plated dishes. Launched in 2017, Avartana is headed by Chef Nikhil Nagpal. Its signature dishes include beetroot with curd cheese, cuttlefish with black garlic, coconut, and cauliflower, and chargrilled pork belly with steamed tapioca.
The restaurant is also known for its fennel panna cotta egg dessert, served in a bird’s nest and cracked open with a mini hammer.The banana leaf, a representation of Southern India, is used frequently in the decor, showing up as a motif in the carpet and as a banana blooms on the partitions.
